Mondelez Internationals’ Cadbury Celebrations, one of India’s most loved gifting brands, is bringing a little more warmth to neighbourly relationships this Diwali. The brand builds a new campaign that explores how everyday disagreements often coexist with affection, creating opportunities to reconnect during the festive season in the residential neighbourhoods.
Cadbury Celebrations’ Diwali campaign shows a neighbourly banter can pave the way for renewed bonds, positioning the brand as a thoughtful gifting choice that brings people closer. With a box of Cadbury Celebrations as the gesture that bridges the gap, a small act of gifting becomes an invitation to make peace and start afresh. From parking disputes and shared boundary walls to noisy parties and cricket games in the compound, small differences between neighbours can sometimes lead to bigger disagreements. Diwali offers an opportunity to put these differences aside, rebuild connections and begin afresh.
The festive portfolio features Choco Mithai Squares and the new Milky Mithai Squares, made with slow-cooked, caramelised milk and traditional mithai-inspired flavours. New gifting pack formats and designs further strengthen its festive offering. With packs starting at under Rs 100 and premium options spanning the Rs 250– Rs 575 range, the collection makes festive gifting accessible while offering elevated choices across price points.
Vinay Subramanyam, Vice President – Marketing, Mondelez India, said: “Diwali has always been a time to pause, reconnect and celebrate the people around us. Our latest campaign tries to depict the beautiful and unique relationship that we Indians have with our neighbours – we bicker, we banter but underneath, there is bonhomie, especially during Diwali. We are pleased to launch Milky Mithai under the brand Cadbury Celebrations, which is a magical coming together of fine chocolate with the taste of iconic Indian Mithais.”
The festive range includes the launch of new Mithai collection – the Cadbury celebrations Milky Mithai Squares in Kesar pista flavour and Choco Mithai squares in Crispi Rabdi, Badam Barfi and Kesar Badam Indian flavors, that are particularly relevant around Diwali and assorted chocolate packs, Silk Selections, Bournville Selections, Rich Dry Fruit Jars – all in premium gold-accented packaging.
Sukesh Nayak, Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy India, said: “There’s enough bitterness in the world but a little sweetness has the power to go a long way. With our latest Diwali campaign, we wanted to celebrate the familiar, playful quarrels between neighbours – and how quickly they can melt into warmth when someone makes the first move. It doesn’t take much to soften a hard feeling: a knock on the door, a plate of Meetha, a little generosity. In a world that can feel divided, that small sweetness can bring us closer.”
Shekhar Banerjee, President, Client Solutions, South Asia, WPP Media said: “Diwali isn’t just one celebration it’s a whole week of distinct rituals, reunions, nostalgia, gratitude, mending old squabbles and multiple moments of gifting & consumption. We are using creator ecosystem and turning these moments into seamless, shoppable gift guides that make it effortless to pick a Cadbury Celebrations pack tailored to every unique moment & bond.”
Mondelez India Foods strengthens the Cadbury Celebrations’ role in making Diwali gifting a meaningful way to celebrate relationships amplified the campaign through an integrated media plan spanning television, digital, social media and in-store touchpoints.
