Mondelēz International has kicked off local manufacturing of Biscoff in India, following a strategic partnership with Belgium’s Lotus Bakeries. This marks the first time Biscoff will be produced outside Europe — a clear signal of India’s importance in the brand’s global expansion plans. Mondelēz will oversee manufacturing, marketing, and nationwide distribution, leveraging its extensive retail and digital footprint to scale the brand quickly.
The India rollout includes five accessible pack sizes starting at Rs 10, positioning Biscoff to compete directly in the fast-growing premium cookie segment. Beyond retail shelves, Mondelēz plans to broaden Biscoff’s reach through institutional channels such as hotels, airlines, cafés, and QSR chains.
For Mondelēz, the move reinforces its broader “Make in India” agenda; for Lotus Bakeries, it opens a pathway to one of the world’s most dynamic snacking markets. The partnership brings a global favourite closer to Indian consumers while anchoring future growth on local production.
