Kitchen Secret Raises Rs 1.14 Crore in Seed Funding Led by BeyondSeed

Kitchen Secret, a preservative-free brand of ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook sauces founded by mother-son duo Renuka Kedia and Manav Kedia, has raised Rs 1.14 crore in its first external funding round, led by BeyondSeed, with participation from angel investors.

The fresh capital will be deployed towards strengthening marketing efforts, expanding inventory, increasing distribution across quick-commerce platforms and scaling the brand’s business-to-business (B2B) operations. The investment will support Kitchen Secret’s efforts to expand its consumer reach and build on its presence across direct-to-consumer (D2C), quick-commerce and B2B channels.

Originally launched in 2016 as a passion-led food venture, Kitchen Secret gained an encouraging response from customers but was eventually discontinued due to marketing and distribution challenges. In 2023, Manav Kedia took the initiative to revive the brand, recognising an opportunity to tap into growing consumer interest in global flavours and the rapid adoption of quick commerce in India. Under his leadership, Kitchen Secret was relaunched with a refreshed brand identity, an expanded flavour portfolio and recipes developed in-house, laying the groundwork for its next phase of growth.

Since its relaunch, Kitchen Secret has expanded its product portfolio across a range of global cuisines, including Italian and Mexican flavours, alongside its newly launched Korean-inspired offerings. What began as a home-led food venture has evolved into a scalable business, with Kitchen Secret now operating its own facility with a daily production capacity of approximately 500 kg. This transition marks a significant milestone in the brand’s journey, positioning it to meet rising consumer demand and expand its market presence. It has sold over one lakh jars and is currently available across more than 500 Blinkit dark stores.

Speaking on the development, Manav Kedia, Co-Founder, Kitchen Secret, said, “We didn’t come into this with industry experience, just a love for good food and a belief that India was ready for it. Over the past three years, every day has taught us something new, and we’ve used each lesson to improve. Our goal is simple: to keep getting better until Kitchen Secret is the name people trust most for sauces.”

Commenting on the investment, Radhika Jain, Co-Founder & CEO, BeyondSeed Middle East, said, “India’s evolving consumer landscape presents an opportunity for brands that combine differentiated products with convenience and accessibility. Kitchen Secret has demonstrated the ability to build a distinct product portfolio and establish distribution across quick-commerce, retail and B2B channels while remaining bootstrapped. We are pleased to support the team as it strengthens its market presence and scales its operations. We believe the brand is well-positioned to build on its early traction and tap into the growing demand for convenient, globally inspired food products.”

BeyondSeed operates through a SEBI-approved Category I AIF in India and a USD-denominated Category I AIF in GIFT City, enabling tax-efficient cross-border investments by global angel investors. Its investment in Kitchen Secret will support the brand’s growth across consumer and institutional channels.

Kitchen Secret has established a multi-channel presence, selling through its own website and online platforms including Blinkit, Zepto and Amazon. Alongside its consumer-facing business, the brand supplies products to the hotel, restaurant and catering (HoReCa) sector and offers white-label and private-label manufacturing services to other brands. With the fresh capital, Kitchen Secret aims to strengthen its distribution network, improve brand visibility and scale its presence across consumer and institutional channels.
