Swiggy has rolled out DeskEats, a new feature aimed squarely at India’s time-strapped working professionals. Now live across 30 cities and over 7,000 office zones—including tech parks, corporate towers, and business hubs—DeskEats is positioned as a go-to solution for everyday lunches and workday snacking.
With access to 7 lakh+ menu items from over 2 lakh restaurants, the feature can be triggered on the Swiggy app by typing “office” or “work”. DeskEats offers curated categories such as deadline desserts, one-handed grabbies, value combos, and healthy nibbles, designed to mirror the rhythms and moods of a typical workday.
“DeskEats is our answer to the hustle of the office grind. It’s built around the rhythms of a working day,” said Deepak Maloo, VP, Food Strategy and New Initiatives, Swiggy.
The launch follows Swiggy’s Corporate Rewards programme, which has already seen adoption by 14,000 companies and reached 1.5 lakh employees within three months. DeskEats builds further on Swiggy’s strategy to deepen penetration in the corporate and white-collar consumption segment.
Beyond food, Swiggy is also expanding into adjacent lifestyle and services verticals. In June, the company launched Crew, a lifestyle concierge app, and Pyng, a professional services marketplace. In parallel, it shut down Swiggy Genie, its on-demand delivery service.
With DeskEats, Swiggy is placing a sharp bet on India’s evolving urban consumption behaviours and workplace routines, as it pushes forward in its multi-pronged growth journey.
