OKO hosts a Tokyo Gastronomic Affair featuring Culinary Maestro Chef Shun Sato & Chef Fumiyuki Kinsu

Must Read

The LaliT New Delhi recently played host to an extraordinary culinary event – Tokyo Gastronomic Affair by Chef Shun Sato and Chef Fumiyuki Kinsu, that showcased a fine Michelin-style omakase pop-up in collaboration with Chef’s Table India. Hosted on 10th April at OKO, the Pan-Asian destination, transported guests into the heart of Japanese haute cuisine.

Globally celebrated Chef Shun Sato directed visitors through his intimate chef’s table experience by curating a carefully designed multi-course omakase that showcased his signature precision, seasonal sensibilities, and modern flair. His craft was honed in some of the world’s most prestigious Michelin-starred kitchens, across Japan, Australia, and Hong Kong. The 6-course dinner was a journey through Japan, deeply rooted in tradition and elevated through avant-garde techniques.

Guests were welcomed into a dining experience that was in line with the very philosophy that is ‘omakase’- a chef-led expression of trust and artistry. Elaborate pairings of courses with premium sake and fine wines added more nuances and depth to every bite.

Some highlights of the menu included, Whispering Greens – a delicate embrace of baby spinach, gently rolled and bathed in a velvety sesame purée; Pearls of the Sea – translucent Hokkaido scallops, kissed by a delicate yuzu sanbaizu dressing, offering a balance of citrus brightness and umami depth; Blossoms of Kyoto – crisp and ethereal zucchini blossom enrobed in the lightest tempura and paired with a luxurious port wine truffle purée; and Celestial Yuzu Panna Cotta – a silky panna cotta infused with bright yuzu essence. The flavourful delicacies were paired with delicious wine, sake and cocktails.

The pop-up is yet another milestone in the history of OKO, reaffirming the restaurant as the very hottest destination for Pan-Asian excellence in the national capital.

Referring to the success of the launch, Vivek Shukla, CEO, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, shared, “This was a collaboration of craft, culture, and hospitality, not merely a culinary showcase. Bringing Chef Shun Sato together with Chef’s Table India at OKO upholds our continuous commitment to provide our guests a phenomenal experience.”

Chef’s Table India, the country’s premier luxury dining curator, is celebrated for bringing some of the world’s most renowned chefs to India’s elite culinary enthusiasts. Known for hosting sold-out dining experiences featuring Michelin-starred talents, the platform continues to redefine luxury gastronomy in India.

With limited seats available, this one-of-a-kind gastronomic affair will be open to public on the 11th & 12th April 2025.
