The Ghaziabad Namo Bharat RRTS station on the Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut corridor is set to become India’s first train station to feature a rooftop restaurant and integrated commercial precinct, transforming the transit hub into a lifestyle destination for travellers and local residents alike. This development will be part of a broader commercial strategy by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) to strengthen non-fare revenue and modernise commuter experiences.
Under the plan, approximately 18,578 sq metres of Property Development (PD) area within the station will be offered on a 25-year licence basis, inviting bids from investors, restaurateurs and retail operators via an e-tendering process. Permitted uses include rooftop and fine-dining restaurants, cafés, food outlets, showrooms, wellness centres, hotels, banquet halls and other commuter-centric amenities. The commercial spaces span multiple levels, including ground, upper and core PD areas, creating a multi-layered mixed-use environment.
The project aims to convert what has traditionally been a pure transit node into an integrated commercial and leisure hub, allowing users to dine, shop, relax and access services under one roof. With high daily footfall expected due to the station’s proximity to major bus terminals and residential clusters, the rooftop restaurant — offering panoramic views — is positioned as a standout attraction that redefines how Indian rail and RRTS stations serve communities beyond mobility.
