French gourmet bagel chain Bagelstein has marked its entry into the Indian market with the launch of its first outlet at Nexus Mall, Kukatpally, Hyderabad. The move signals the start of an ambitious expansion plan aimed at tapping into India’s growing appetite for global QSR and café-style formats.
The Hyderabad outlet features a curated menu including signature items like the Halloumi Bagel and Josephine Bagel, alongside a range of smoothies, iced teas, and coffee. According to reports, all offerings are prepared with fresh ingredients, reflecting Bagelstein’s commitment to quality.
Designed to mirror Bagelstein’s European aesthetic, the outlet’s interiors also incorporate local design elements to create a culturally resonant dining experience for Indian consumers seeking international flavours in a familiar setting.
Speaking about the launch, Thierry Veil, Founder and CEO, Bagelstein, said, “India presents a strategic growth and exciting opportunity for us, and we are delighted to introduce our delicious blend of French charm and cuisine to Hyderabad.”
Bagelstein has outlined a pan-India expansion plan, aiming to open 100 outlets across the country by 2029. The initiative follows the brand’s master franchise agreement with a local franchise partner, signed in August 2024. Upcoming expansion targets include key urban hubs like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Pune.
Founded in Strasbourg in 2011, Bagelstein currently operates over 100 stores across France, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, and Switzerland, and now adds India to its growing international footprint.
