A new culinary destination, Zeki, has opened its doors in Mumbai, Maharashtra, offering a contemporary take on European and Mediterranean cuisine. As reported by The Economic Times, the 60-seater bistro and bar is the brainchild of actor-turned-entrepreneur Khushank Arora, who aims to create a warm, community-driven space for patrons to unwind and connect.
Drawing inspiration from the Turkish word “Zeki,” meaning “intelligent” and “wise,” the concept embodies the communal spirit of bees gathering around flowers—a metaphor Arora uses to reflect the bistro’s ethos of togetherness and belonging.
The menu has been curated by chef consultant Vidit Aren and is executed by brand chef Debanshu Mondal. Emphasizing a minimalist “less is more” philosophy, the kitchen showcases seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, with dishes prepared using time-honoured techniques like roasting and grilling. All sauces, dips, and ferments are made in-house, and flatbreads and pizzas are crafted using high-protein, roller-milled flour from Abohar, Punjab.
Highlights from the menu include Truffle Mushroom Bianca with bechamel, ricotta, and garlic confit; Za’atar Pistachio and Ricotta Manakish; and a hearty Pepperoni and Roast Chicken Puttanesca.
The bar program features ten signature cocktails that incorporate modern mixology techniques like clarification and fat-washing, along with house-made infusions. Rounding out the experience is a unique take on the classic Baklava, made with clarified pistachio milk.
Zeki sets out to be more than just a dining venue—it aims to be a space where guests can pause, reconnect, and feel at home.
