Procter & Gamble announced today that Shailesh Jejurikar, currently Chief Operating Officer, will succeed Jon Moeller as Procter & Gamble’s President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2026. The Board has also nominated Jejurikar to stand for election as a Director at the annual shareholder meeting in October 2025. With this election, Jejurikar is poised to become the first Indian to take the helm of P&G in its ~187-year history.

Born and raised in India, Shailesh, 58 years old, is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. He started his P&G career as an Assistant Brand Manager in India looking after Personal Healthcare (Vicks) and Skincare. Within a decade of joining P&G, he was serving as a Marketing Director for P&G India. Shailesh has a distinguished track record throughout his 36-year P&G career and has been an integral part of P&G’s leadership team for the past 12 years.
Throughout his career, Shailesh has continued to have ties with P&G India – be it his role as the Chief Executive of Global Fabric and Home Care, P&G’s largest business, or in his most recent role as COO where he was responsible for P&G’s Global Enterprise Markets, which includes P&L responsibility for many markets around the world, including India. Today, he was announced as the first Indian CEO of P&G in its ~187 year history.
