Coca-Cola’s mango-based beverage, Maaza, has reached billion-dollar brand status in 2024, marking the company’s 30th such achievement globally, Chairman and CEO James Quincey announced.
Following Thums Up’s milestone in 2021, Maaza continues to strengthen Coca-Cola’s portfolio in India, a key market for the company. Acquired in 1993 from Parle Bisleri, Maaza has remained a staple in India’s beverage industry since its launch in 1976.
India, Coca-Cola’s fifth-largest market, saw the addition of 440,000 retail outlets in 2024 through digital expansion, optimizing product offerings and pricing. The company’s strategic marketing and targeted campaigns have reinforced its local engagement.
Coca-Cola’s unit case volume grew 1% in 2024, led by India, Brazil, and Mexico. The company reported a 6% revenue increase to $11.5 billion for the December quarter and a 3% rise to $47.1 billion for the full year.
Refranchising bottling operations in India contributed $303 million in net gains despite $7 million in transaction costs. Coca-Cola remains committed to expanding its presence in India’s growing beverage market.
