Parle Biscuits, the packaged-food company behind popular brands such as Parle-G, Monaco, Hide & Seek and Melody, has appointed George Kovoor as its Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2026.
Kovoor joins Parle Biscuits after more than 30 years with PepsiCo, where he held senior leadership positions across multiple consumer businesses and markets. Over the course of his career, he has built expertise in driving business growth, strengthening execution, developing leadership talent and managing diverse and evolving consumer markets.
Commenting on the appointment, Ajay Chauhan, Managing Director, Parle Biscuits, said Kovoor’s extensive industry experience would support the company in enhancing organisational capabilities, nurturing talent and uncovering new avenues for long-term growth.
The leadership change comes as Parle continues to strengthen its position in India’s highly competitive packaged-food sector. Established in 1929 in Vile Parle, Mumbai, the company has developed a wide-ranging portfolio that includes Parle-G, Monaco, Krackjack, Hide & Seek and Melody.
Parle positions itself as India’s largest biscuits and confectionery company, with a distribution footprint covering more than 75 lakh retail outlets nationwide. Its brands also have a presence in international markets, including countries across Asia and Africa.
Kovoor’s appointment marks the addition of an experienced consumer-business executive to Parle’s leadership team. His mandate comes at a time when the company is seeking to build further on the strength of its legacy brands, while adapting to shifting consumer tastes and intensifying competition across the packaged-food landscape.
