British casual dining brand PizzaExpress has strengthened its presence in the national capital with the launch of a new restaurant at Elegante Mall, marking its entry into the North-West Delhi catchment. With this opening, the brand now operates 38 outlets across India.
The launch brings PizzaExpress’ signature all-day dining experience to a neighbourhood known for family outings and social dining, further expanding the brand’s footprint in Delhi-NCR.
Founded in 1965 by Peter Boizot in London’s Soho, PizzaExpress began as a small pizzeria on Wardour Street and has since grown into one of the United Kingdom’s most recognised pizza brands, operating more than 450 restaurants across the UK and in 13 countries globally.
At the heart of the dining experience is the brand’s signature Romana pizza, known for its thin, hand-stretched base made from dough prepared fresh daily and baked in traditional ovens. Guests can also watch pizzaiolos stretch and flare the dough in the restaurant’s open kitchen, adding a theatrical element to the dining experience.
The menu includes several of the brand’s well-known dishes such as Dough Balls served with garlic butter and the Calabrese pizza, a signature recipe created by a Michelin-starred chef. Ingredient quality remains central to the kitchen’s approach, including tomato passata sourced from Italy and carefully selected toppings.
To cater to local tastes, the menu also features India-inspired options such as Chicken Tikka, Chicken Coriander and Paneer Coriander pizzas, alongside appetisers like chicken wings.

Positioned as an all-day dining destination, the restaurant offers a wide selection of starters, soups, salads, handcrafted pastas, Italian sandwiches and desserts. Families dining together can also opt for the Piccolo menu, which features smaller portions and child-friendly dishes for younger guests.
The restaurant features warm interiors, comfortable seating and an open kitchen designed to encourage relaxed meals and social gatherings.
In India, PizzaExpress entered the market in 2012 and has since expanded across major cities including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Mohali.
The brand is operated in India by Gourmet Investments Pvt Ltd, the hospitality and dining arm of the Bharti family office, which also manages international restaurant brands such as Chili’s American Grill & Bar, P.F. Chang’s and Ministry of Crab.
The newly opened restaurant at Elegante Mall in West Delhi is now operational for both dine-in and delivery.
