Mumbai-based quick commerce company Zepto has rolled out Zepto Sankalp, a food safety initiative aimed at sensitising its last-mile delivery partners and pickers on hygiene and compliance practices.
As part of the programme, Zepto organised a mass awareness training session at The Rangaswar Hall, Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, Nariman Point. The workshop, led by Chinmayee Deulgaonkar, managing director, Food Chain ID India, and Sumedha Jalgaonkar, food safety systems consultant, auditor, and trainer, focused on hygiene protocols, food storage standards, and compliance best practices. Hundreds of food handlers from Zepto’s Mumbai operations participated in the training.
Vikas Sharma, Chief Operating Officer, Zepto, said, “At Zepto, trust is built on the assurance of quality and safety in every order we deliver. This training is a vital step towards strengthening our safety commitments and ensuring that every Zepto user receives their order in the safest possible manner.”
The session was also attended by Pritee Chaudhary, regional director, FSSAI (Western Region), who highlighted the importance of compliance and shared responsibility in safeguarding consumer health. “Initiatives like Zepto Sankalp play a vital role in bridging the gap between regulation and execution,” she said.
