Global Asian dining brand Wagamama has entered the Indian market through a partnership with K Hospitality, marking the brand’s debut in the country’s premium restaurant and foodservice sector. The brand recently opened its first outlet in DLF CyberHub in Gurugram, with a private launch event attended by industry guests and stakeholders.
The opening event was hosted by Sunil Kapur, along with Varun Kapur and Karan Kapur of K Hospitality. Guests were introduced to Wagamama’s menu and dining experience as the brand marked the beginning of its operations in the Delhi NCR region.
Founded in London, Wagamama is known for its Asian-inspired menu and experience-led restaurant format. Its India entry comes as international restaurant brands continue to expand in the country, driven by growing demand for global dining concepts and premium foodservice experiences.
Prathmesh Sangle, Head of Growth, K Hospitality, took to LinkedIn to announce the opening of the new store and congratulated the entire team for adding Wagamama to its growing portfolio.
In August, The Restaurant Group (TRG) had announced a multi-million-pound joint venture with Charcoal Concepts to accelerate the expansion of Wagamama across India. The announcement coincided with the opening of Wagamama’s newest restaurant in Mumbai, the 4th in the country. Together, the partners aim to open at least 100 Wagamama restaurants across India over the next 10 years.
