Food and beverage company PepsiCo India has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, with an investment of Rs 1,266 crore, marking one of its biggest manufacturing investments in the country.
According to the company, the new plant is expected to drive industrial growth, create employment opportunities, and support the development of ancillary industries across central India.
The Ujjain facility forms part of PepsiCo’s broader commitment to invest Rs 5,700 crore in India by 2030. Spread across 22 acres, it is the company’s second flavour manufacturing plant in the country and will produce beverage concentrates for PepsiCo’s portfolio of beverage brands.
Speaking on the occasion, PepsiCo International Beverages CEO Eugene Willemsen said India remains a key strategic growth market for the company globally. He noted that the Ujjain facility, the company’s ninth flavour manufacturing plant worldwide and second in India, underscores PepsiCo’s long-term commitment to the Indian market.
“The Ujjain plant brings together the best of PepsiCo’s global capabilities in manufacturing, technology, and sustainability, while strengthening our ability to serve consumers with the iconic PepsiCo beverages,” he added.
PepsiCo India and South Asia CEO Jagrut Kotecha described the inauguration as another milestone in the company’s “Partnership of Progress” with India.
Beyond manufacturing, PepsiCo continues to strengthen its presence in Madhya Pradesh through its collaborative farming programme, which works with more than 2,000 farmers in the state to sustainably source chip-grade potatoes.
