Pour Over Coffee Roasters Aims for 100 Cafés by 2030

Delhi-based specialty coffee chain Pour Over Coffee Roasters (POCR) is planning to expand to around 100 cafés across India by 2030, while scaling up its coffee roasting business.

The bootstrapped company currently operates four company-owned outlets and plans to add three more by the end of 2026. It is targeting 12 cafés by 2027, with the upcoming outlets also planned as company-owned stores. The brand is also looking beyond major cities and plans to open cafés in destinations with a strong travelling customer base. Pushkar is among the locations being considered.

Alongside its café expansion, POCR is investing in its roasting operations, which co-founder Ritika Sharma sees as the core of the business.

The company currently roasts coffee using two 1 kg machines with a combined capacity of around 250 kg per month, while demand is estimated at 350-400 kg. A new 15 kg roaster from Germany is expected to arrive in November, while the company is also setting up a larger roastery in Okhla.

At present, around 60% of the coffee roasted by POCR is used across its own cafés, while the remaining 100–150 kg per month is supplied to other restaurants and cafés. With the additional capacity, the company plans to increase its B2B business, with the segment eventually accounting for around 60% of volumes.

POCR originally started as a B2B-focused coffee business before entering the café segment. The company now plans to selectively expand through partnerships with established hotel and restaurant operators.

It is in discussions with Minor Hotels for a potential partnership and already exports coffee to Nepal and Sri Lanka. It is also exploring buyers in the US and Dubai and plans to establish a roastery in the Czech Republic to serve the European market.

The company sources Arabica and Robusta beans directly from estates in Karnataka and also imports specialty coffee from Colombia. In July, it launched a limited Colombian Collection featuring beans from Huila, including Papayo Natural and an Indo-Colombian blend.
