Carlsberg India has commissioned a new canning line at its Mysuru brewery with an investment of Rs. 100 crore, bolstering manufacturing capacity and reinforcing the company’s long-term strategic commitment to India’s beer market and Karnataka in particular.
The high-speed line boosts production throughput and is expected to enhance supply for packaged beer formats amid rising demand across retail and hospitality channels. The facility’s capacity aligns with broader growth plans following an earlier Rs. 350 crore expansion commitment for the Mysuru brewery announced at Invest Karnataka 2025.
Nilesh Patel, Managing Director, Carlsberg India, framed the investment as consistent with the company’s sustainable growth strategy, aimed at producing international-quality beers and contributing to state excise revenues and regional employment creation.
Yathindra Siddaramaiah, MLC, Government of Karnataka, highlighted the expansion as evidence of strong investor confidence in the state’s industrial ecosystem and its ability to support inclusive regional development.
The Mysuru brewery, located in Nanjangud taluk, spans about 28 acres and manufactures flagship brands including Carlsberg and Tuborg. The site integrates sustainability measures such as biomass and biogas boilers, and sources roughly 85% of its power from solar energy.
Carlsberg India’s production network and these capacity enhancements position the company to capitalise on emerging beer consumption trends across India’s on-trade and off-trade markets.
