Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (HUL) has announced a leadership transition, appointing Niranjan Gupta as its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and member of the Management Committee, effective November 1, 2025. Gupta, who began his career at HUL, will succeed Ritesh Tiwari, who has been elevated as Global Head of M&A and Treasury at Unilever Plc.
Gupta returns to HUL after nearly a decade, bringing extensive experience from Vedanta and Hero MotoCorp, where he rose from CFO in 2017 to CEO in 2023. He was instrumental in strengthening financial health, driving long-term strategy, and forging global partnerships, including with Harley Davidson.
Tiwari, who took charge as HUL’s CFO in 2021, navigated the pandemic years, spearheaded acquisitions and portfolio reshaping, and oversaw the demerger of HUL’s ice cream business into Kwality Walls (India) Ltd. Commenting on the transition, Priya Nair, CEO & MD, HUL, said, “I would like to thank Ritesh for his future-focused leadership and invaluable contribution to HUL. His elevation to the global role is yet another testament to HUL’s strong leadership pipeline. I am pleased to welcome Niranjan back to Hindustan Unilever and I am confident that he will play a pivotal role in steering the company towards its next phase of growth.”
