Salad Days has announced plans to expand its cloud kitchen network to 50 locations by the end of 2025. The brand has grown from 29 operational cloud kitchens to 36 currently, with plans to add 15 more locations in the coming months. The expansion will see the brand strengthening its footprint significantly in Delhi NCR and rapidly scaling operations across Mumbai. Salad Days currently operates through a network of 36 cloud kitchens, with 19 kitchens in Delhi-NCR, 12 in Bangalore, and 5 in Mumbai.

In Delhi NCR, 8-10 new cloud kitchens will be launched across Gurugram, Delhi & Noida. The Mumbai expansion will cover Malad West, Borivali West, BKC, Chembur, Thane, and more, strategically positioned to strengthen the brand’s last-mile delivery network across high-demand residential and corporate hubs. Supporting the expansion brand’s revamped kitchen infrastructure featuring a continuous makeline system with Kitchen Display Systems (KDS), IoT-enabled temperature monitoring, and a modular design that enables parallel processing of multiple order streams while maintaining consistent quality across its offerings.

Commenting on the expansion, Varun Madan, Founder & CEO, Salad Days, said, “Delhi NCR and Mumbai represent the epicenter of India’s health-conscious urban population, and these are markets where we’ve already established strong customer trust over the years. This expansion is about building the density and infrastructure needed to serve our customers faster while maintaining the quality and consistency they’ve come to expect from us. The Series A funding raised earlier this year enables us to scale our impact significantly – we’ve already served 1 million orders in 2025, and we’re now positioned to cater to an estimated 4.5 million orders over the next two years. What excites me most is the launch of Build Your Salad, which embodies our commitment to innovation while staying true to our core mission of making nutritious eating accessible. As India’s healthy food market continues to expand rapidly, we’re uniquely positioned to meet the growing demand for wholesome, customizable meals at affordable price points.

With this expansion, Salad Days is setting a new benchmark in India’s healthy foods category. The move addresses a critical consumer need – convenient access to fresh, healthy meals through expanded cloud kitchen coverage. As the brand scales to 50+ locations while introducing advanced kitchen infrastructure, it reinforces its decade-long commitment to making nutritious eating a mainstream choice for urban India. The expansion is also expected to generate significant employment opportunities across operational, culinary, and delivery functions in both markets.

Salad Days, a leading healthy food brand has secured Rs. 30 Crores in Series A funding round co-led by V3 Ventures and Client Associates Alternate Fund (CAAF). Notably, this marks the company’s first institutional funding round after operating profitably as a bootstrapped venture for 10+ years, demonstrating its robust business model and market leadership in the category.

The fresh capital will be deployed for omnichannel expansion and strengthening operational capabilities. The company will focus on new store openings, enhanced technological infrastructure, talent acquisition, and elevated marketing initiatives. Additionally, Salad Days aims to explore new sales channels and menu innovations while maintaining its commitment to profitability and customer retention. Arindam Basu and Sonal Biyani from Basic Roots Consulting were the exclusive advisors to the company for this transaction.

Commenting on the funding, Varun Madan, Founder & CEO, Salad Days said, “Having built Salad Days on a foundation of customer trust for over a decade, this funding marks an exciting new chapter in our mission to make nutritious eating accessible to all Indians. As India’s healthy food market expands rapidly, projected to reach $30 billion by 2026, we’re uniquely positioned to cater to the growing demand for healthy and wholesome meals at affordable price points. While we’ve maintained sustained growth and profitability throughout our journey, these fresh funds will enable us to further scale our impact significantly. We’re focused on strategic expansion across all dimensions – from expanding our footprint to strengthening our team and enriching our menu. We will continue to innovate our offerings while maintaining the quality and consistency that our customers trust us for.”

Speaking on the investment, Arjun Vaidya, Co-founder and Managing Partner, V3 Ventures said, “At V3 Ventures, we actively seek businesses that combine strong fundamentals with scalable growth potential. India is changing the way we eat and Salad Days caters to this new theme perfectly. Their journey of bootstrapped profitability and market creation for over a decade demonstrates that they have the right platform to see serious scale from here. As a gluten-free, artificial sugar-free and health-conscious eater – the offering did resonate with me personally as well.”

Further adding, Shivam Diwan, Executive Director and Head of Client Associates Alternate Fund (CAAF) said, “We are very excited to partner with Salad Days in its Series A fundraise. Salad Days is among our first few investments at CAAF, and it truly represents what we look for in an ideal investment – a customer-obsessed, mission-driven founder who has been able to create a category-defining brand, profitable, sustainable execution, and strong, scalable unit economics. All of this is in a consumer category which we think will only go from strength to strength with time. Looking forward to building the Company and category together with Varun.”

To demonstrate its commitment to quality and sustainability, Salad Days maintains an organic farm where it grows a selection of fresh produce for its menu. Now located in Vasant Kunj, the farm has been continually invested in, for a greater understanding of the quality of raw materials thus guaranteeing a strong hold on the supply chain. Salad Days currently sells through its website, centralised phone lines and major food aggregators including Swiggy, Zomato, and ONDC.

Following its expansion in Delhi-NCR and Bangalore, Salad Days made its Mumbai debut in mid-January this year with the launch of a cloud kitchen serving Andheri East and Powai. Within a short period of time, the brand has clocked over 15,000 orders in the city, demonstrating a strong foothold and growing customer base. The brand aims to acquire half a million customers in Mumbai within the next two years to meet the rising demand for nutritious food options among the metropolitan’s health-conscious population.

Commenting on the expansion, Varun Madan, Founder & CEO, Salad Days, said, “The healthy food market in India is expected to reach $30 billion by 2026, growing at a CAGR of 20%. This tremendous growth reflects a shifting consumer mindset towards healthier, more sustainable eating habits, and we are well-positioned to remain at the forefront of this transformation. As an early entrant in the healthy foods landscape, we undertook the onus of redefining the perception of salads in India, and have succeeded in transforming them from mere side dishes into nutritious, delicious meals that cater to diverse tastes and dietary preferences. With this expansion, we’re excited to bring our offerings to a wider audience and further our mission of making healthy eating a preferred choice for everyone in the country.”

The brand has recently garnered attention for its unique ‘Aamras Croissant.’ Salad Days has captured the internet’s attention with its innovative fusion of traditional and contemporary flavors. The unexpected pairing of aamras, a classic Indian mango puree, with a French croissant showcases Salad Days’ creative approach to transforming healthy foods into delectable, exciting dishes. Actor Tamannaah Bhatia also shared her positive review, further amplifying the trend.

Salad Days caters to diverse dietary preferences such as keto-friendly, vegan, detox, gluten-free, and lactose-free. The brand currently sells its food items through its own website, as well as aggregators including Swiggy, Zomato, and ONDC.

Healthy food brand Salad Days has expanded its operations into Mumbai, marking its debut with the inauguration of its first cloud kitchen in the Chandivali locality situated in Andheri East. This strategic move is part of the company’s expansion plan to establish a strong foothold across Mumbai’s key districts, including Andheri West, Lower Parel, and Khar.

In the initial phase of this expansion initiative, the brand intends to launch four cloud kitchens, with the objective of attracting half a million discerning customers within the city over the next two years. This strategic expansion aligns seamlessly with Salad Days’ overarching growth strategy, which focuses on solidifying its presence in three pivotal metropolitan areas: Delhi-NCR, Bangalore, and now, Mumbai. Leveraging its proven track record of serving over one million unique customers in Delhi-NCR and another 100,000+ in Bengaluru, the brand aims to make a substantial impact in the bustling metropolis of Mumbai.

Expressing his excitement for the Mumbai expansion, Varun Madan, Founder & CEO, Salad Days, said, “The launch of our first cloud kitchen in Mumbai is a big milestone for Salad Days and sets the right tone for our growth plans for 2024. Mumbai presents a thrilling opportunity for us to bring our various offerings to its residents and align with their food habits. Drawing from our successful experiences in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru, we are confident that our quality, consistency, and taste will win the hearts of our valued customers in Mumbai as well. We are also exploring strategic avenues to raise funds that will further support our expansion and enhance our presence in key markets.”

Since its establishment in 2014, Salad Days has shown a commitment for promoting a healthier lifestyle through its tasty and nutritious meals. The brand believes that salads are not just sides, but rather full and satisfying meals that can contribute to one’s overall well-being. By offering affordable, healthy, and delicious food options, Salad Days aims to position salads and other nutritious meals as regular meal choices in Indian households.

Salad Days’ health-focused menu features salads, grain bowls, baguette sandwiches, pita pockets, overnight oatmeal bowls, soups, cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and desserts. It also caters to diverse dietary preferences such as Keto-friendly, vegan, detoxifying, gluten-free, and lactose-free. The brand currently sells its offerings through home channels as well as through leading food delivery aggregators Swiggy and Zomato.

The brand’s vision is to make salads and other wholesome choices a regular part of Indian households’ dining habits. The brand has a network of 15 strategically located cloud kitchens in the Delhi-NCR and Bangalore regions. Additionally, the brand operates two central kitchens and an organic farm in Vasant Kunj (Delhi), cultivating a variety of fresh produce for its menu.
