McDonald’s India (West & South), owned and operated by Westlife Foodworld, launches its innovative McSavers+ campaign that fundamentally challenges the conventional rules of value with its tagline- ‘It Doesn’t Add Up’. This new proposition is designed to captivate customers with snack and beverage combos that defy traditional pricing norms.

The campaign leverages the intriguing math of 65+49=69 to showcase the exceptional value offered by McSavers+. Customers can now enjoy the new Chicken Surprise Burger priced at INR 65 and a classic Coke Float at INR 49, but instead of the expected total amount of INR 114, they will only need to pay INR 69, which is a value proposition that doesn’t add up.

Apart from the Chicken Surprise Burger, McSavers+ also offers a range of snack options including McAloo Tikki, Pizza McPuff, McEgg Burger, and Regular Fries. Customers can pair any of these delectable snacks with a Cola beverage for the unbeatable price of INR 69.

The campaign is complemented by a TVC. It opens with a scene at a McDonald’s counter where two GenZ kids are amazed by the math-defying offer of McSavers+. Their confusion is humorously likened to solving a complex math that even Newton would find challenging. The scene shifts to Isaac Newton sitting under a tree, being humorously struck by a Chicken SurpriseBurger while enjoying a Coke Float. The genius takes this strange incident as inspiration, symbolizing a breakthrough in understanding the unbelievable value. With the tagline “Value so good, it doesn’t add up,” the TVC effectively mixes historical wit with modern-day value expectations to create a memorable narrative that resonates well especially with the younger audience.

Talking about the new campaign, Arvind R.P., Chief Marketing Officer, McDonald’s India (W&S), said, “We are delighted to launch the McSavers+ campaign targeted at the youth. Our constant aim is to make delicious feel-good moments easy for everyone, and democratize access to delicious food, being easy on the wallet. We have ensured that every aspect of this campaign – from the enticing price points to the playful and engaging communications – has been crafted to resonate with Gen Z, a key audience for McDonald’s.’’

To enhance the consumer experience further, McDonald’s India has also launched a dedicated microsite, 654969.in, which provides customers with in-depth details about this exciting new offering. This campaign is available for a limited time period.

Beyond Snack, a Kerala banana chips brand, has inaugurated its new factory at India Food Park in Tumkur, Karnataka. This new facility spans 60,000 sq ft over 2 acres and incorporates advanced technology to ensure precision slicing and optimal control of the cooking process. With a daily production capacity of 6.6 metric tons, the new factory will triple Beyond Snack’s current capacity, significantly boosting the company’s growth plans for the coming year.

Strategically located to enhance the banana value chain, the Tumkur plant strengthens Beyond Snack’s control over the entire supply chain. In addition to its production capabilities, the facility includes an R&D center focused on driving future innovations. Designed with scalability in mind, the plant can accommodate four additional production lines to meet future demand.

Expressing his excitement about the new facility, Manas Madhu, Co-founder,Beyond Snack, said, “We are thrilled to open this new facility, which represents a significant milestone in our growth journey. Not only does it increase our production capacity, but it also underscores our commitment to innovation and sustainability.”

Currently operating with an 80% women workforce, the facility aims to become a 100% women-run operation by 2026. Madhu added, “With a workforce that is 80% women and plans to reach 100% by 2026, we are proud to support gender diversity and empowerment.”

Since its inception in 2020, Beyond Snack has experienced significant growth, bolstered by an investment from NABVentures in 2023. The brand gained substantial exposure when it was featured on the business reality show Shark Tank India in 2022. Currently, Beyond Snack has a presence in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and other regions, with plans to expand further in the coming year.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), a non-profit, non-government industry-led, and industry-managed organisation, held a press conference at The Lalit, New Delhi. The event was addressed by Sanjiv Puri, President, CII, and Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII.

The agenda of the conference was to provide an overview of the macroeconomic outlook of the country and present a 14-point agenda for the new government

Projecting a strong outlook for the Indian economy this year, Sanjiv Puri said, “The growth rate is expected to reach 8% this year, marking the fourth consecutive year of growth above 7%. However, this estimate depends on addressing the remaining reform agenda, improving global trade to boost our exports, strong performance from investment and consumption, and the expectation of a normal monsoon, among other factors.”

He added, “The impressive growth expected this fiscal year is driven by six key factors that have accelerated the economy. These include private sector investment, public investment in physical and digital infrastructure, a well-capitalised banking system, a booming capital market, and reduced dependence on oil. Together, these factors are propelling India’s growth story.”

Puri outlined a 14-point agenda for the new government to drive the next phase of economic transformation. These were:

Agriculture

Create an Inter-State Agri Reform Council to build consensus on agri reforms between the Centre and states.

Launch programs for producer collectives to boost farmers’ income.

Develop warehousing infrastructure.

Set up a national grid for market intelligence and crop planning.

Promote technology adoption in agriculture and pursue stable agri-export policies.

2. Regulatory Reforms and Ease of Doing Business

Enhance competitiveness by strengthening the ease of doing business.

Intervene in areas such as land, power, and logistics.

Simplify, rationalise, and decriminalise regulatory compliances.

Implement time-bound clearances via the National Single Window System.

Strengthen the alternate dispute resolution system.
