In a landmark move aimed at enhancing the quality and outreach of hospitality training in India, the Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Lalit Suri Hospitality School (TLSHS) one of India’s premier institutions for hospitality education, to enhance industry-aligned training and certification, reaffirming their shared commitment to skill development and employability in India’s growing tourism and hospitality sector.

The MoU was formally signed by Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson & Managing Director, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, and Rajan Bahadur, CEO, THSC. The event was graced by Jyoti Mayal, Chairperson, THSC; Mr. Keshav Suri, Executive Director, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group; Mr. Anupam Mukherjee, Dean, TLSHS and senior officials from both organisations.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to empowering India’s youth through structured, industry-aligned skilling programs, with a focus on inclusivity, employability and excellence in hospitality education. This MoU marks an important milestone in aligning academic training with real-world hospitality needs, thereby fostering a skilled, job-ready, and globally competitive workforce for the Indian service sector.

Commenting on the tie-up, Jyotsna Suri remarked, “This partnership is a meaningful step towards bridging the gap between education and industry needs. At The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group, we believe in preparing young professionals who are not just strong in theory but also ready for real-world challenges in hospitality. Skilling is a key part of that effort. By working with THSC, we aim to equip the youth with practical, globally-relevant skills that open up numerous career opportunities.”

Jyoti Mayal, Chairperson, THSC, stated, “We are thrilled to see prestigious institutions like The Lalit Suri Hospitality School, which boasts impressive infrastructure and a strong academic foundation, coming forward to champion the skilling mission. Such partnerships are the backbone of a strong, demand-driven skilling ecosystem that responds to real industry needs and unlocks true potential among India’s youth—especially in tourism, one of the most people-centric sectors.”

Rajan Bahadur, CEO, THSC, emphasized, “The hospitality sector is evolving rapidly, and so must our approach to workforce development. With institutions like TLSHS we can ensure that students receive not only domain knowledge but also industry-relevant exposure, life skills, and certification. We are confident that this initiative will help create a future-ready workforce aligned with the evolving needs of the hospitality and tourism ecosystem.”

Keshav Suri, Executive Director, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, added, “We’ve always believed in creating equal opportunities to build an inclusive nation. Through this partnership, we hope to skill and place youth from diverse backgrounds—including the LGBTQIA+ community and economically weaker sections—so they can thrive in an industry built on service and compassion.”

Together, TLSHS and THSC are committed to building a robust skill ecosystem that nurtures the next generation of hospitality professionals and contributes meaningfully to India’s tourism-led economic growth.
