New Delhi, India: Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd. has announced that it will not renew its franchise agreement with Dunkin’ in India upon its expiry on December 31, 2026, marking the end of a 15-year partnership.

According to reports, the decision comes amid continued financial losses and limited scale-up of the Dunkin’ brand in the Indian market,

As of December 2025, JFL operated 27 Dunkin’ outlets, having closed several stores over the past year. The brand contributed less than 1% to overall revenue and reported losses in FY2025, making it a non-core segment for the company.

Jubilant FoodWorks stated that it will evaluate options for the existing stores, including potential sale or transfer of franchise rights, in consultation with Dunkin’.

The company will continue to focus on its core growth engines, including Domino’s and Popeyes, and does not expect any material financial or operational impact from this move.

Popeyes has announced the launch of its first airport outlet at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Terminal 2. The opening marks a strategic step in the brand’s India expansion following its entry into the Mumbai market earlier this year in August.

Launched in partnership with AMRL, the new store underscores Popeyes’ focus on bringing its globally loved flavours to one of India’s busiest aviation gateways. The Mumbai T2 opening reflects the brand’s growing momentum and its intent to be part of premium locations like the airport.

Visitors at Mumbai T2 forecourt can now enjoy Popeyes’ globally renowned favourites such as the Chicken Sandwich, Signature Fried Chicken, Boneless Chicken with international flavours, and a Hot & Messy range curated for the Indian palate. Staying true to its Louisiana Cajun heritage, all chicken is fresh, hand-battered, hand-breaded, and marinated for 12 hours to deliver bold, distinctive flavour.

Speaking on the expansion into airport locations, Sameer Khetarpal, CEO and MD, Jubilant FoodWorks Limited, said that airports have become critical touchpoints for brand discovery and repeat engagement. “Airports are no longer just transit points, they are where brands are discovered. Launching at Mumbai T2 allows us to engage with a high-intent, high-frequency audience and take Popeyes beyond the high street. After a strong response in Mumbai since August, this opening is a deliberate move to scale the brand in premium travel-led locations.”

Highlighting the role of food and beverage in shaping passenger experience, a spokesperson from AMRL noted that curated partnerships are central to their airport strategy. “The launch of Popeyes at CSMIA marks a significant milestone in AMRL’s F&B growth. Airports today are evolving into lifestyle destinations, and food & beverage plays a pivotal role in shaping that experience. Partnering with a globally iconic brand like Popeyes aligns strongly with our vision of offering world-class choices to travellers. Mumbai Airport T2, being one of India’s busiest and most aspirational gateways, is the perfect location for this debut. This collaboration reflects our focus on quality, consistency, and global relevance. We remain committed to strengthening India’s airport F&B ecosystem through meaningful partnerships.”

The Popeyes Mumbai T2 store is now open to travellers, offering dine-in and takeaway options for both domestic and international passengers.

The capital of India has opened its doors to Dawatpur, Asia’s largest food court. The ultra-modern commercial space which is a part of the Omaxe Chowk, offers a modern dining environment while preserving the traditional in the region of Chandni Chowk.

The food court hosts an array of popular brands like Tunday Kababi, Jung Bahadur Kachori, Kuremal ki Kulfi, Gaya Prasad Paranthe Wale, and Qureshi Kabab Corner, allowing these eateries to reach a broader audience while preserving their authenticity. Dawatpur also features a variety of modern food brands such as Burger King, Domino’s, Chinese Wok, Haldiram’s, Popeyes, and Hira Sweets. This mix ensures that there is something to cater to every palate, making Dawatpur a versatile culinary destination for both locals and tourists.

Talking about the new food court, Jatin Goel, Executive Director, Omaxe Group, said, ‘‘At Dawatpur, we celebrate and promote the diverse flavours of Delhi’s streets, offering an immersive experience that transports visitors back to the Mughal era.”

One of the standout features of Dawatpur is its ability to balance local culinary heritage with international dining options. This strategy ensures every visitor can find something to enjoy, whether they seek local flavours or international delights. The thematic setting of Dawatpur further enhances this balance by providing an ambiance reminiscent of India’s royal past.

Innovative strategies and events have significantly increased foot traffic and revenue at Dawatpur like “Dawatpur ki Kahaniya,” a poetic evening created in collaboration with the Unheard group, combines poetry and fictional elements tailored specifically for Dawatpur. Creating a unique and engaging environment also requires innovative interior designs, thematic decor, and interactive elements that enhance the dining experience.

Dawatpur offers not only a culinary journey but also an immersive experience. With its strategic location, diverse food offerings, and innovative approach, Dawatpur addresses the long-standing issues of Chandni Chowk by providing a hygienic, spacious, and eclectic dining environment. It bridges the gap between the old and the new, preserving the essence of Delhi’s culinary heritage while introducing modern conveniences. This fusion makes Dawatpur not just a food court, but a cultural and gastronomic landmark of Delhi.

Jubilant Foodworks has launched two Popeyes outlets in Delhi-NCR, marking its debut in the capital city.

“What a weekend to start with !! Popeyes new store launch in Delhi NCR today at Pacific Mall, Jasola and Mall of Faridabad,” wrote Kartik Shandilya, Lead Business Development at Popeyes – North India in a LinkedIn post.

The two new restaurants are located at Pacific Mall Jasola, NH-19, beside Jasola Apollo Metro Station, Jasola, New Delhi and Mall of Faridabad, NIT Bus Stand, K L Mehta Road, 01, New Industrial Township, Faridabad.

Jubilant Foodworks expects its fried chicken brand Popeyes to cross Rs 1,000 crore in sales in the next 3-4 years, its CEO & MD Sameer Khetarpal said last week in a media interaction.

The brand entered North India with the launch of its first outlet at Omaxe Chowk in Chandni Chowk recently. The decision to establish a Popeyes outlet in Chandni Chowk, one of Delhi’s oldest and busiest markets, renowned for its cultural heritage, underscores Jubilant Foodworks’ strategic approach to catering to diverse consumer preferences and leveraging high-traffic areas.

“This has truly been a testament to the excitement and love shown by our customers in the Capital Region, who have tasted the Popeyes flavor in other cities and have since been eager for Popeyes to open a store closer to home. We are confident that our new store in Delhi will attract chicken enthusiasts in large numbers and will contribute to the growing number of fans of this storied brand,” read the company’s LinkedIn handle.

The company has already opened 35 Popeyes outlets in India so far and is planning to ramp up expansion in the coming months. Jubilant Foodworks is the India master franchisee of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Inc. to open and operate Popeyes-branded restaurants in the country. It introduced Popeyes to India with a first outlet in Bengaluru in January 2022.

Jubilant Foodworks has so far adopted a cluster approach in India for Popeyes, rolling out restaurants in southern cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Madurai and Manipal.

Towards the end of 2023, Jubilant had revealed plans to take the brand to the North of the country, specifically Delhi-NCR. Popeyes plans on opening at least 4 more outlets in the region this year, including in major malls.

Apart from Popeyes, Jubilant Foodworks operates as the India franchisee of other US fast food brands namely Domino’s Pizza and Dunkin.

The American multinational chain of fried chicken restaurants was founded in 1972 in New Orleans, Louisiana and is currently headquartered in Miami. Over time, the brand has revamped its visual identity and restaurant ambiance, adopting a more contemporary approach to reflect the culinary depth of the brand.
