Zydus Wellness’ Nutralite has announced the launch of Nutralite Chef, an innovative and interactive foodtech platform for tailor made recipes and meal planning. Leveraging advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms, Nutralite Chef aims to solve complex challenges facing smart urban homemakers around balancing healthy food choices and flavour, while making culinary experience easy, fun, and personalized.

According to Google, there are nearly 1.4 billion recipe searches annually with keywords, such as ‘easy recipes’ and ‘healthy recipes’. A consequence of our busy lives, when people see their fridge after a long day, they see disparate ingredients but nothing to eat.

Nutralite Chef is addressing this daily dilemma of ‘Aaj khane mein kya banau?’ and helping users overcome culinary challenges, such as availability of limited ingredients or specific dietary preferences, including allergies or intolerance.

Accessible via WhatsApp and web, Nutralite Chef integrates new age AI and ML technologies, including GPT-4xo, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Perplexity, and Stable Diffusion, to enable voice or image-based search. The platform also offers unlimited recipes and personalized, step-by-step real-time guidance, while supporting multiple languages, photo search feature and voice commands for a seamless and interactive cooking experience. This ultimately helps in encouraging culinary creativity and supporting users to utilize ingredients from their fridge to come up with dishes that may not seem obvious.

Tarun Arora, CEO, Zydus Wellness said, “Today, technology has reshaped every aspect of our lives, and the health and wellness industry is no exception. At Zydus Wellness, we are driving innovation forward by merging cutting-edge technologies with the food science to solve real-world challenges. Nutralite Chef is a perfect example of this commitment. By leveraging the power of artificial intelligence, we are helping consumers take charge of their health and taste, making nutritious living achievable yet enjoyable, and at the same time inspire creativity in the kitchen. By combining the latest advancements with our commitment to wellness, we are redefining how technology can improve lives and foster healthier, more fulfilling lifestyles.”

Nutralite Chef also supports with meal planning and can recommend meals based on the user’s required serving size, dietary preferences, or calorie requirements, which saves them from decision fatigue. Unlike traditional recipe platforms, it delivers distraction-free suggestions without lengthy narratives or ads, making it ideal for quick and easy access to recipes.

Marking the second MarTech innovation from the house of Nutralite, the platform will play an important role in making technology accessible and enjoyable for everyone, allowing users to save time while enjoying a highly personalized cooking experience.

Nutralite brand ambassador and celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor said, “Cooking is an art, and the kitchen is a realm where simplest ingredients can create extraordinary dishes. Nutralite Chef empowers every home cook to experiment, create, and enjoy the cooking process without barriers. I am elated to see Nutralite embracing technology in such a meaningful way, ensuring that cooking is always a fun and fulfilling experience.”

The platform can be accessed through https://www.nutralite.com/nutralitechef-ai or WhatsApp 07948041559.

WellBe Foods, the direct-to-consumer brand under the Nimida Group, reputed for its Deliciously Good food choices with No Nasties, has been awarded the prestigious “Start-Up of the Year” at the Fi India Awards 2024, held in Bengaluru. This recognition highlights WellBe Foods’ commitment to revolutionising the FMCG industry by creating healthier, more nutritious alternatives – from snacks and snack bars to organic kitchen staples – without compromising on the authentic taste and quality that consumers deserve.

The Fi India awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the food industry, recognising companies that are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in food development. WellBe Foods’ dedication to crafting ‘Deliciously Good, Honestly Made’ food choices with ‘No Nasties’ prioritising consumer well-being has positioned the brand as a trailblazer in the sector.

Gaurav Manchanda, Founder, Nimida Group, commented, “We are truly honoured that WellBe Foods has been recognised as ‘Startup of the Year’ at the Fi India Awards. This award is a testament to our unwavering commitment to creating Deliciously Good products with No Nasties, thereby offering consumers healthier alternatives. It also reflects and acknowledges our dedication to taking the more challenging path—making transparent and responsible choices, with Honestly Made products that align with our vision of being India’s No. 1 Responsible Retailer.”

WellBe Foods is on a mission to change the way people eat by offering deliciously good, honestly made products with No Nasties. WellBe’s range of traditional Indian snacks reimagined in a healthier avatar eschews the use of maida, refined oil, and refined salt. The brand’s innovative approach includes healthier alternatives like rice flour, red rice flour, rice bran oil, rock salt, and a first in traditional Indian snacks: flaxseeds. Its range of kitchen essentials includes a host of organic options – from rice, dal and atta to cold-pressed oils and bilona ghee. WellBe also offers a host of snack bars and breakfast muesli – free of refined white sugar, artificial colours & flavours and synthetic preservatives.

WellBe is available at The Organic World, Lulu, More Hyper & Supermarkets, Ratnadeep & Natures’ Basket and in the general trade market in Hyderabad. They are also available online on wellbefoods.com.

The Organic World (TOW), India’s leading Responsible Retailer and the largest organic and natural retail store chain in the country, has gone for a significant expansion of its millet product range. With this strategic move, TOW, part of the Bengaluru based Nimida Group, is diversifying its offerings from just two categories – Whole Grains and Flours – into an extensive selection spanning 11 categories and featuring over 70 unique SKUs. This move marks a pivotal step in the company’s mission to promote sustainable and health-conscious eating.

This comprehensive expansion includes nine new categories: Breads, Rusks, Fresh Batter, Ready-to-Fry Snacks, Snacks, Pasta and Noodles, Breakfast Options, Ready-to-Cook Meals, and Drinks & Juices. This wide array of products is designed to simplify millet consumption and integrate it seamlessly into everyday diets, making it more accessible and convenient for consumers who may be unfamiliar with millet or its preparation.

By introducing ready-to-eat and ready-to-fry millet products, TOW aims to elevate its sales contribution of millet products from the current 4% to a robust double-digit percentage. This expansion aligns with the broader market trends, as the millet-based snacks sector is projected to grow from USD 2.64 billion in 2024 to USD 3.84 billion by 2031, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.5% over the period.

Gaurav Manchanda, Founder and Director of The Organic World, shared, “Our expanded millet range underscores our commitment to offering healthier, more diverse food choices. We believe that by introducing millet into a wide variety of products, we are not only responding to the growing demand for nutritious and sustainable food options but also aiming to make millet a staple in every household. Our enhanced product range will provide consumers with a multitude of delicious and convenient options, while also contributing to a healthier planet.”

The new millet products adhere to TOW’s high standards of quality, ensuring they are nutritious and align with the company’s dedication to producing chemical-free, natural, and organic foods. The products are available through TOW’s extensive retail network, including 22 physical stores, and its website www.theorganicworld.com and the app.

This National Nutrition Week, McDonald’s India (West & South), owned and operated by Westlife Foodworld, has partnered with the CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) to launch a unique and industry-first Multi-Millet Bun. The brand has also collaborated with Padma Shri Chef Sanjeev Kapoor to bring alive the brand’s commitment to developing nutritious menu options.

The new Multi-Millet bun allows customers to enjoy the same signature taste from their favourite burgers from the classic McAloo Tikki to the fiery McSpicy Paneer, with the added-on goodness of millets. This innovative bun, featuring a blend of five major and minor millets – Bajra, Ragi, Jowar, Proso, and Kodo – marks a significant milestone in McDonald’s India’s ongoing ‘Real Food Real Good’ journey. Renowned for their nutritional benefits, these superfoods are sourced from diverse parts of the country, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, also reflecting McDonald’s India’s commitment to local and sustainable sourcing.

The launch is further amplified by a brand film featuring Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, a long-time advocate of millet-based cuisine. As part of the campaign conceptualized by DDB Mudra, the brand has come up with a new digital ad film. The film showcases Chef Kapoor taking orders from customers which took them to a great surprise. As he takes their orders, he asks them, ‘Can I add some extra goodness to your burger?’

The customers, upon realizing that it is the renowned Chef Sanjeev Kapoor himself recommending some better options, enthusiastically agree, their faces lighting up with excitement. Chef Kapoor then introduces the nutritious Multi-Millet Bun, eloquently highlighting its benefits and the collaborative effort with top food tech institute CSIR-CFTRI, backed by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The customers are left spellbound by Chef Kapoor’s passion for millets. The film closes with Chef Sanjeev Kapoor saying, ‘That’s My McDonald’s’, underscoring the brand’s commitment to blending great-tasting burgers with added-on goodness.

Chef Sanjeev Kapoor said, “I am excited to be a part of this unique and thoughtful initiative by McDonald’s India to launch the Multi-Millet Bun. As someone who has been passionate about promoting the goodness of millets, I was captivated to see McDonald’s India embarked on a journey to provide more nutritional and mindful eating choices to its customers.”

Arvind R.P., CMO, McDonald’s India (W&S) said, “The introduction of the Multi-Millet Bun, developed in collaboration with the esteemed CSIR-CFTRI, is a testament to our constant endeavour towards offering mindful choices through various menu innovations. We are also pleased to extend our collaboration with Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, whose trusted culinary expertise and unwavering advocacy for millets in India make him the perfect fit to endorse our new Multi-Millet Bun. This strategic combination of traditional superfoods with modern food sciences results in a delicious and nutritious addition to our customers’ favourite burgers. We believe that our fans will relish and appreciate this innovative menu item.”

The new Multi-Millet Bun is a significant step towards McDonald’s India’s ongoing nutrition journey, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing the nutritional profile of its offerings. CSIR-CFTRI’s deep expertise played a pivotal role in seamlessly integrating the nutritional benefits of millets in the new bun while achieving the delicate balance of taste, texture, and quality that McDonald’s is known for. The result is a bun packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and natural dietary fibre, offering both nutrition and delight in every bite.

Customers can now savour their favourite burgers in a nutritional avatar with multiple added goodness by opting for the new Multi-Millet Bun at their nearest McDonald’s restaurants in West and South India, on-the-go via Drive-Thru and also can order through the McDelivery App.
