For its retail sector committee, the Punjab Government has appointed Umang Jindal, CEO, Homeland Group, as its Chairman. The committee thoroughly examines policies and frameworks from other relevant states across the country to develop a ‘best-in-class’ policy framework for Punjab.

Under Umang Jindal’s leadership, the core task of this committee is to provide the Government with a structured set of inputs for a customised, industrial policy framework for the Retail industry.

To achieve this, the Department of Industries & Commerce is embarking on a significant initiative to prepare customized transformational roadmaps for key industrial sectors of Punjab. This effort is designed to be truly collaborative and impactful, built upon extensive consultations with the industry stakeholders.

Sanjeev Arora, Cabinet Minister, Punjab, said, ” The Govt of Punjab, under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, is dedicated to fostering a progressive ecosystem for industrial growth, innovation and sustainability, alongside robust employment generation across the state.”
