iD Fresh Food, India’s largest and most reputed brand in fresh, natural food products, is on an ambitious growth trajectory. The Bangalore-based company announced its expansion to Ahmedabad, as a part of its pan-India growth plan. In a strategic move to cater to growing consumer demand, the company is introducing its acclaimed range of products such as idli-dosa batter, Malabar Parota, Wheat Lachha Paratha, Paneer, Curd and Coffee to the city. The brand intends to soon launch rest of its offerings such as Spices and Chutney as well into the market.

“We’re thrilled to bring iD Fresh’s authentic, natural and preservative-free products to the vibrant city of Ahmedabad,” said Rajat Diwaker, CEO (India), iD Fresh Food. “Ahmedabad is an important market for us, given its rich food culture and consumers who appreciate natural and traditional flavours. Our expansion here is a key step in our pan-India growth strategy, and we are confident that our products will resonate well with the city’s families who value authenticity and quality.””

The aggressive plan for a pan-India expansion comes against the backdrop of iD’s phenomenal success in 2024. The company clocked a revenue of Rs. 554 crores in FY 24 and aims to clock INR 700 crores in FY 2025. Infact, the company had a 16% increase in its operating revenue, rising to INR 395.76 cr in FY24 from Rs. 340.9 cr in the previous year.

This expansion aligns with iD Fresh Foods overarching growth strategy to enhance the accessibility and availability of its products nationwide. While the current focus is on making core products widely accessible, specific plans for each city will be shaped by market performance and consumer feedback in the next phase.

The World Spice Organisation (WSO), a not-for-profit entity and technical partner of the All-India Spices Exporters Forum (AISEF), is set to host the third edition of the National Spice Conference (NSC) on November 15-16, 2024, at the Double Tree by Hilton, Ahmedabad. The two-day conference, themed “Sustainable Spices Supply Chain – Way Forward,” aims to unite key stakeholders across the spice industry, including government officials, industry leaders, farmer representatives, and representatives from prominent NGOs focused on sustainable agriculture, such as GIZ and IDH.

The event will feature four focused business sessions addressing critical issues facing the spice industry. Key topics include “Ensuring Sustainable Supply Chain through Quality Assurance and Regulations,” “Role of Sustainability in Building a Food Safe and Resilient Supply Chain,” “Best Agricultural Practices and New Technologies,” and “Introduction to FPOs and FPO Sharing Experiences and Latest Industry Trends.” An exclusive Farmer-Buyer Interface session on the second day will offer Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) a unique opportunity to connect directly with processors and buyers, fostering enhanced market access and strengthened trade relationships.

Ramkumar Menon, Chairman of WSO, highlighted the strategic importance of the conference, noting, “The Indian spice industry is at a crucial juncture, where sustainability, food safety, and quality are becoming central to maintaining a competitive edge in global markets. Through NSC 2024, we aim to empower FPOs and other stakeholders with the knowledge, tools, and connections needed to build a resilient and sustainable spice supply chain. With new regulatory demands and consumer expectations, it is critical for the spice industry to adopt practices that ensure both quality and sustainability.”

The NSC 2024 is expected to serve as a platform for knowledge-sharing, networking, and collaborative innovation, underscoring the importance of sustainable practices within the spice industry to address evolving global market demands.
